HTML

HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language, is the predominant markup language for web pages. It is the basic block for almost all the webpages.HTML allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms. It provides a means to create structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. It can embed scripts in languages such as JavaScript which affect the behavior of HTML webpages. It is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of various tags. All the tags have a starting point and an ending point. In between the tags, we place the contents like text, tables, images etc.

The web browser reads the HTML documents and compose them into visual or audible web pages. The browser does not display the HTML tags, but uses the tags to interpret the content of the page.Once we are done with the placement of our content, we will try to beautify them by adding some CSS so that it seems attractive to the visitors.

For learning HTML, you dont need anything other than an editor. Notepad++ is preferable as it gives lots of facilities and error can be detected pretty easily.

So, lets start the HTML tour and we will help you make your first webpage.
